What We Believe
The United Methodist Church is an 11-million-strong global church that opens hearts, opens doors and opens minds through active engagement with our world. United Methodists share a common heritage with all Christians. According to our foundational statement of beliefs in The Book of Discipline, we share the following basic affirmations in common with all Christian communities:
- Our Christian Roots
- Sacraments - We recognize two sacraments in the United Methodist Church: Baptism and Holy Communion. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of the month at all of our services. We serve Communion in the style known as "intinction" where a piece of bread is handed to the recipient, then the bread is then dipped into a chalice of juice and consumed. Communion elements are available for those who have dietary restrictions such as gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, and egg-free.
