Prayer Shawl team is meeting in-person on the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays of the month in Room B203, 6:30 - 7:15 pm

The Prayer Shawl team is a ministry of prayer, and love through knitting or crocheting shawls. Although WCUMC sponsors this ministry you do not have to be a member to participate. This ministry is open to anyone who would like to share their talents of knitting/crocheting (or would like to learn). You may join us any time, new team members are always welcome. If you do not know how to knit or crochet, there are team members who are willing to teach you.

Card team members are assigned a specific month(s) to send cards on behalf of WCUMC and the Care Team to members, family and friends of WCUMC in their time of needing encouragement. This is a wonderful ministry that the church provides, and this is a great way to serve God and serve others. If you'd like to be a part of this ministry, please contact Rev. Mark Pitts.

The purpose of the Williamson's Chapel Prayer Chain is to pray for any prayer requests that are shared with WCUMC. This is a "one and done" prayer ministry, which means that prayer chain members receive emailed prayer requests and then simply pray over that request. Members of the prayer chain then repeat that action each time another prayer request is emailed to them. There is no need to keep a running list of prayer requests unless the team member chooses to do so. There are no meetings to attend for this ministry team.

Our Congregational Care Ministries equip many caring individuals to visit people in different circumstances and locations. Below are the visitation teams we currently have serving at WCUMC. We are always seeking to add to our volunteer ranks, if you'd like to be a part of any of these teams please contact Rev. Mark Pitts.

Newborn Visitation Team
These loving volunteers support parents who have a new addition to their family, either by birth or through adoption, by providing cards, casseroles, and visits! Visits are made on an "as needed" basis depending on when a child is born or adopted.

Homebound Visitation Team
Those who visit our homebound members play a vital role in the church in keeping connection with homebound members. During these visits the team members will socialize and pray with the member as they share love and comfort. These visits are made at the volunteer's convenience and discretion.

Nursing Home Visitation Team
Visiting our members at the local nursing homes is a great ministry and one that is both rewarding for the volunteer and the visit recipient. Visits are made at the volunteer's convenience and discretion.

Hospital Visitation Team
This team is dedicated to caring for those in the hospital and ensuring that the presence of the church is felt regardless of how long they are hospitalized. Visits to the hospital are determined by individual need.

There are several occasions in our church families' lives that we step in to help in many ways. Providing quality meals in a time of need is one of those ways. This is a simple, yet meaningful way to care for people in certain times of their lives. Many of our meals are prepared in advance and frozen for ease of delivery and re-heating purposes. The meals we provide families following the death of a loved one can be prepared and served to the family on campus. If you are interested in helping with this ministry, please contact Rev. A few ways our meal teams cares for others ...Bereavement meals are provided for families in our church when they experience the death of a loved one, casseroles are delivered to families who have welcomed a new child into their family, either by birth or adoption. A casserole is provided for families who are struggling with an illness and finding it difficult to prepare food for their families
